Arteche, headquartered in Spain and operating in Power, Distribution, and Specialty Transformer Manufacturing, reported total emissions of approximately 1.15 billion kg CO2e in 2023. This includes Scope 1 emissions of 8.93 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions (market-based) of 5.08 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of 1.14 billion kg CO2e. Key categories within Scope 3 were use of sold products (958.85 million kg CO2e), purchased goods and services (104.23 million kg CO2e), and end-of-life treatment of sold products (53.84 million kg CO2e).

Looking ahead, Arteche aims to reduce its Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 40% by 2026 and by 50% by 2030, using 2021 as a base year. The company also targets a 26% reduction in Scope 3 emissions by 2026 and a 50% reduction by 2030, also against a 2021 baseline. Arteche has Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approved near-term and long-term targets. For near-term, they commit to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 43.0% by 2030 from a 2023 base year, and absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 25.0% within the same timeframe. For long-term, Arteche commits to a 90.0% reduction in absolute Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions by 2050 from a 2023 base year, striving for net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2050.
