Arval

Arval, a passenger car leasing company headquartered in France, has reported significant Scope 3 emissions, with emissions from the use of sold products and downstream leased assets constituting the largest portions.

For 2025, Arval's total emissions were approximately 21.4 billion kg CO2e, exclusively comprised of Scope 3 emissions. This includes about 8.3 billion kg CO2e from the use of sold products and approximately 7.8 billion kg CO2e from downstream leased assets. Scope 1 and 2 data were not disclosed for this year.

In 2024, Arval's total emissions stood at approximately 21.9 billion kg CO2e. This comprised about 1.4 million kg CO2e in Scope 1 emissions and approximately 2.3 million kg CO2e in Scope 2 emissions (market-based). Scope 3 emissions accounted for the vast majority, totalling around 21.9 billion kg CO2e, with 8.9 billion kg CO2e from the use of sold products and about 7.5 billion kg CO2e from downstream leased assets.

For 2023, Arval reported total emissions of approximately 843,230 kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at about 969,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 at around 1.7 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at approximately 6.2 million kg CO2e.

In 2022, Arval reported Scope 1 emissions of about 1.07 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of approximately 1.77 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions totalling around 3.47 million kg CO2e.

Arval's emissions data for 2019 indicates a total of approximately 16 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at about 1.1 million kg CO2e and Scope 2 (location-based) at approximately 5.6 million kg CO2e. Scope 3 emissions were also approximately 16 billion kg CO2e, with significant contributions from capital goods (4 billion kg CO2e) and downstream leased assets (6.7 billion kg CO2e).
