Bekaert's latest reported carbon emissions data for 2025 shows a significant portion comes from Scope 3 emissions. For the 2025 reporting year, total emissions were approximately 6,095,320,000 kg CO2e. This includes Scope 1 emissions of about 243,656,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions (market-based) of approximately 1,027,860,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions totalling about 4,823,804,000 kg CO2e. The largest contributors within Scope 3 for 2025 were purchased goods and services (approximately 4,518,323,000 kg CO2e), followed by fuel and energy-related activities (approximately 295,091,000 kg CO2e) and capital goods (approximately 120,674,000 kg CO2e).

In 2024, total emissions were approximately 6,072,889,000 kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at 247,835,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 (market-based) at 1,029,290,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at approximately 4,795,764,000 kg CO2e.

Bekaert has established ambitious climate commitments. The company aims to reduce its combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 46.2% by 2030, using 2019 as the baseline year. This target aligns with science-based targets and is part of their broader ambition to reach Carbon Net Zero by 2050 across all scopes. Specifically, they have committed to reducing Scope 3 emissions related to purchased goods and services by 19.7% by 2035, also from a 2019 baseline.
