For 2025, Big Yellow reported its Scope 1 emissions at 53,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 location-based emissions at 1,956,000 kg CO2e, and partial Scope 3 emissions (covering waste generated in operations and fuel and energy-related activities) at 665,000 kg CO2e.

Looking back to 2024, the company reported Scope 1 emissions of 115,100 kg CO2e and Scope 2 location-based emissions of 2,136,900 kg CO2e. In 2023, Big Yellow's Scope 1 emissions were 254,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 location-based emissions were 2,141,700 kg CO2e, and partial Scope 3 emissions (covering business travel and fuel and energy-related activities) amounted to 369,000 kg CO2e.

Big Yellow has set several significant climate targets. The company is committed to achieving net-zero operational Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions by 2050, aligning with the UK Government's target.
