Crown Holdings, a US-based aluminium and aluminium products company, reported a total of approximately 11.2 billion kg CO2e in emissions for 2025. This includes Scope 1 emissions of about 579 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of approximately 387 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions amounting to roughly 10.3 billion kg CO2e.

For 2024, Crown Holdings's total emissions were approximately 11.6 billion kg CO2e, comprising about 563 million kg CO2e for Scope 1, approximately 463 million kg CO2e for Scope 2, and roughly 10.6 billion kg CO2e for Scope 3. In 2022, the company's total emissions were approximately 11.8 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at around 613 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 at approximately 566 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at about 11.5 billion kg CO2e.

Crown Holdings has set ambitious climate commitments. The company is committed to reducing absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 50% by 2030, using a 2019 base year, to align with a 1.5-degree Celsius target. Furthermore, Crown Holdings aims to source 75% renewable electricity by 2030 and achieve 100% by 2040, in line with its Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) goals.

In terms of longer-term objectives, Crown Holdings has committed to reaching net-zero GHG emissions across its value chain by 2050. This commitment extends to reducing absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 90% by 2050 from a 2019 base year. Additionally, the company aims to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 90% by 2050 from a 2019 baseline, with specific targets for purchased goods and services, upstream transportation and distribution, and the use of sold products. Crown Holdings also pledges to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services by 27.5% by 2030 from a 2019 baseline.
