Globalfoundries, a US-headquartered company in the Electrical machinery and apparatus n.e.c. industry, reported approximately 3.34 billion kg CO2e in total gross emissions for 2025. This includes about 1.11 billion kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions, 621.49 million kg CO2e from Scope 2 (market-based), and approximately 1.61 billion kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions. In the prior year, 2024, total gross emissions were approximately 3.09 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 emissions at around 988.84 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 (market-based) at approximately 625.35 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions at about 1.48 billion kg CO2e.

Globalfoundries is committed to significant emissions reductions. The company has set a "Journey to Zero Carbon Goal" to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030, using a 2021 base year. This commitment was accelerated in April 2025, from an initial 25% reduction target. Furthermore, Globalfoundries Inc. has near-term Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) commitments: to reduce absolute Scope 1 GHG emissions by 42.0% by 2030 from a 2021 base year, and to reduce absolute Scope 2 GHG emissions by 42.0% by 2030 from a 2021 base year. These targets are classified as consistent with a 1.5°C warming trajectory. The company also aims for 76.0% of its suppliers, by emissions covering purchased goods and services and capital goods, to have science-based targets by 2030.
