Reutlingen University's Carbon Emissions & Climate Commitments

In 2022, Reutlingen University (Hochschule Reutlingen) reported total carbon emissions of approximately 4,997,078 kg CO2e. This included Scope 1 emissions of around 11,068 kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of about 1,016,737 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of roughly 3,969,273 kg CO2e.

• 2019: Total emissions reached approximately 5,328,294 kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at about 67,545 kg CO2e, Scope 2 at roughly 1,284,488 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at around 3,628,315 kg CO2e.

The university aims for climate neutrality in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by the end of 2024. This commitment was established in 2023, demonstrating a near-term focus on decarbonisation within its direct operations and energy consumption.
