HSS Hire, a GB-based company in the "Other services (93)" industry, is committed to achieving Net-Zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2040.

For 2024, HSS Hire reported total gross emissions of approximately 126.7 million kg CO2e. This includes Scope 1 emissions of about 8.86 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions (market-based) of approximately 90,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of roughly 116.74 million kg CO2e.

Looking at previous years, HSS Hire's total emissions were approximately 152.69 million kg CO2e in 2023, and about 164.98 million kg CO2e in 2022.

HSS Hire has set ambitious Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validated targets:

• Near-term targets (by 2030 from a 2019 base year):
  • Reduce absolute Scope 1 GHG emissions by 46.5%.
  • Increase active annual sourcing of renewable electricity from 7.6% in 2019 to 100%.
  • Reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services, capital goods, fuel and energy-related activities, upstream transportation and distribution, waste generated in operations, business travel, employee commuting, downstream transportation and distribution, end-of-life treatment of sold products, and downstream leased assets by 27.5%.
  • Reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from the use of sold products for sold fossil fuels by 46.2%.
• Long-term targets (by 2040 from a 2019 base year):
  • Reduce absolute Scope 1 GHG emissions by 90%.
  • Continue active annual sourcing of 100% renewable electricity through 2040.
  • Reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from the use of sold products by 90%.
  • Reduce all remaining absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 90%.

These targets are classified as consistent with reductions required to keep global warming to 1.5°C.
