Carbon Emissions Data:

• 2025: KPN reported a total of approximately 773,214,000 kg CO2e. This breaks down into:
  • Scope 1: Approximately 5,000,000 kg CO2e
  • Scope 2 (location-based): Approximately 95,000,000 kg CO2e
  • Scope 3: Approximately 768,000,000 kg CO2e, with purchased goods and services being the largest contributor at approximately 303,077,000 kg CO2e, followed by capital goods at approximately 240,167,000 kg CO2e and downstream leased assets at approximately 109,615,000 kg CO2e.

Climate Commitments and Reduction Targets:

KPN has set ambitious targets to achieve net-zero emissions:

• Net-Zero: KPN aims to achieve net-zero carbon emissions across its value chain by 2040.
• Scope 1 & 2 Emissions:
  • A commitment exists to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 100% by 2030, using a 2010 base year.
  • KPN has maintained zero Scope 2 emissions (market-based) since 2011, through the use of 100% renewable energy, and intends to continue this through 2040.
  • A specific target is to reduce electricity consumption by 48% by 2030 compared to 2010 levels, aiming for consumption below 400 GWh.
  • Targets also include an 84% reduction in Scope 1 emissions by 2030 from a 2015 base year.
• Scope 3 Emissions:
  • KPN aims for a 90% reduction in Scope 3 emissions by 2040, based on a 2015 baseline, with plans to compensate for the remainder.
  • An intermediate target is a 45% reduction in Scope 3 emissions by 2030, compared to a 2014 baseline.
  • Specific Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) commitments include a 75.6% reduction in absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 2033 from a 2015 base year.
  • Further Scope 3 targets include a 20% reduction by 2025 and a 50% reduction by 2040, both from a 2014 base year.
• Fleet Emissions: KPN is working towards 0% CO2 emissions from its vehicles, with all new vehicles added to its fleet from 2025 being 100% CO2e-neutral, aiming for 100% climate neutrality for car fuels by 2030.
