MJ Gleeson, a UK-based construction company, reported total emissions of approximately 275,000 tonnes CO2e in 2024. This includes about 3,080 tonnes CO2e from Scope 1 (mobile combustion), around 256 tonnes CO2e from Scope 2 (market-based), and roughly 271,404 tonnes CO2e from Scope 3.

Looking back, their total emissions in 2023 were about 273,307 tonnes CO2e, with Scope 1 at approximately 3,274 tonnes CO2e, Scope 2 market-based at around 269 tonnes CO2e, and Scope 3 at roughly 269,678 tonnes CO2e. In 2022, total emissions stood at about 312,144 tonnes CO2e, consisting of approximately 3,165 tonnes CO2e from Scope 1, around 234 tonnes CO2e from Scope 2 market-based, and roughly 308,468 tonnes CO2e from Scope 3.

MJ Gleeson has set Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approved targets:

• They commit to reaching net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across their value chain by FY2050.
• Near-term targets include reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 50.4% by FY2032 from a FY2022 base year.
• They also aim to reduce Scope 3 GHG emissions by 58.1% per m² completed floor area by FY2032 from a FY2022 base year.
• Long-term net-zero targets involve reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 90% by FY2050 from a FY2022 base year.
• Additionally, they commit to reducing Scope 3 GHG emissions by 97% per m² completed floor area by FY2050 from a FY2022 base year.
