Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing Group

Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing Group (MTVH) is committed to achieving Net Zero by 2050, as outlined in their strategy “Our Sustainable Future” and 2030 Action Plan.

For the year 2022, MTVH reported total emissions of approximately 415.8 million kg CO2e. This figure is comprised of:

• Scope 1 emissions: Approximately 9.7 million kg CO2e.
• Scope 2 emissions: Approximately 4.3 million kg CO2e, including about 0.4 million kg CO2e from purchased electricity.
• Scope 3 emissions: Approximately 401.8 million kg CO2e, with specific contributions from business travel (about 1.2 million kg CO2e) and employee commute (about 3.0 million kg CO2e).

MTVH is actively working towards its climate goals, including upgrading directly managed properties to be EPC C rated or higher by 2030. Data for 2021 is available, noting Metworks fleet emissions at approximately 0.8 million kg CO2e and emissions from offices, community centres, and communal energy supplies at approximately 14.6 million kg CO2e. However, comprehensive Scope 1, 2, and 3 totals for 2021 were not reported.
