Mondi, a GB-headquartered company in the Paper and paper products industry, reported its total greenhouse gas emissions for 2025 as approximately 7.41 billion kg CO2e. This included Scope 1 emissions of about 1.76 billion kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of around 360 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of roughly 5.29 billion kg CO2e.

Looking back, Mondi's total emissions for 2024 were approximately 4.58 billion kg CO2e, comprising Scope 1 emissions of around 1.54 billion kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of about 320 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of approximately 2.72 billion kg CO2e. In 2023, total emissions stood at about 4.63 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at roughly 1.75 billion kg CO2e, Scope 2 at around 350 million kg CO2e (market-based), and Scope 3 at about 2.53 billion kg CO2e.

Mondi has committed to ambitious climate targets. It aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2050, from a 2019 base year. In the near term, the company commits to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 46.2% by 2030, also from a 2019 base year. Additionally, Mondi aims to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 27.5% within the same 2019-2030 timeframe. For the long term, the company targets a 90% reduction in absolute Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions by 2050, from a 2019 base year. These targets are consistent with reductions required to keep global warming to 1.5°C, as verified by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
