SES, headquartered in Luxembourg and operating in the post and telecommunication services industry, reported total carbon emissions of approximately 116.08 million kg CO2e in 2024. This figure includes about 7.83 million kg CO2e from Scope 1, approximately 14.24 million kg CO2e from Scope 2 (market-based), and roughly 94.01 million kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions. In 2023, their total emissions were about 111.54 million kg CO2e, comprising approximately 9.80 million kg CO2e from Scope 1, about 13.71 million kg CO2e from Scope 2 (market-based), and roughly 88.03 million kg CO2e from Scope 3. Looking back to 2022, total emissions were significantly higher at approximately 328.09 million kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at about 1.08 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 (market-based) at roughly 22.90 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at around 304.11 million kg CO2e.

SES has committed to ambitious climate targets. They aim to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 50% by 2030, using a 2019 baseline. This commitment has been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), aligning with a 1.5°C warming scenario. Furthermore, SES has a long-term goal of achieving Net Zero emissions across all scopes by no later than 2050. They also commit that 73% of their suppliers, by emissions covering purchased goods and services, capital goods, and upstream transportation and distribution, will have science-based targets by 2028.
