SWAROVSKI OPTIK, a manufacturer of medical, precision and optical instruments, watches and clocks (33) headquartered in Austria, has committed to ambitious climate action targets.

While no emissions data is available, SWAROVSKI OPTIK has established Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approved targets:

Near-Term Targets:

• Scope 1 and 2 Emissions: A 70.0% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2030, from a 2022 base year.
• Scope 3 Emissions: A 50.0% reduction in absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions within the same timeframe.

Long-Term Targets (Net-Zero by 2040):

SWAROVSKI OPTIK is committed to achieving net-zero GHG emissions across its entire value chain by 2040. This includes:

• Scope 1 and 2 Emissions: A 90.0% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2040, from a 2022 base year.
• Scope 3 Emissions: A 90.0% reduction in absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 2040, specifically covering purchased goods and services, capital goods, fuel- and energy-related activities, upstream transportation and distribution, waste generated in operations, business travel, and employee commuting.

These targets are classified by the SBTi as consistent with reductions required to keep global warming to 1.5°C.
