Teradyne, a leader in instrument manufacturing for measuring and testing electricity and electrical signals, is committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2050.

In 2024, Teradyne reported total global emissions of approximately 300,490,000 kg CO2e, comprising 3,517,000 kg CO2e in Scope 1, 29,224,000 kg CO2e in Scope 2, and 267,773,000 kg CO2e in Scope 3. Scope 3 emissions were primarily driven by purchased goods and services (179,485,000 kg CO2e), followed by upstream transportation and distribution (15,972,000 kg CO2e), and business travel (21,967,000 kg CO2e).

The company has established Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approved goals:

• Near-Term Targets (by 2030):
  • A 42.0% reduction in absolute Scope 1 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from a 2024 base year.
  • A 42.0% reduction in absolute Scope 2 GHG emissions from a 2024 base year.
  • A 51.6% reduction in Scope 3 GHG emissions from the use of sold products per USD value added.
• Long-Term Targets (by 2050):
  • A 90.0% reduction in absolute Scope 1 GHG emissions from a 2024 base year.
  • A 90.0% reduction in absolute Scope 2 GHG emissions from a 2024 base year.
  • A 97.0% reduction in Scope 3 GHG emissions per USD value added.

Teradyne aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, with a focus on transparency in Scope 1, 2, and 3 reporting and setting ambitious decarbonisation targets. They have also indicated commitments to achieve net-zero across Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030, as per their near-term targets.
