America Móvil, a post and telecommunication services company headquartered in Mexico, has reported its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for the period 2015-2025. For the most recent reporting year, 2025, the company's total calculated emissions were approximately 4.04 billion kg CO2e. This figure encompasses Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.

In 2025, Scope 1 emissions measured about 294.33 million kg CO2e, while Scope 2 emissions (market-based) were approximately 1.36 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions totalled roughly 2.32 billion kg CO2e. Key contributors to Scope 3 emissions in 2025 included purchased goods and services, accounting for about 1.34 billion kg CO2e, and capital goods, which contributed approximately 500 million kg CO2e.

Looking at previous years, total emissions in 2024 were about 4.07 billion kg CO2e, and in 2023, they stood at approximately 4.42 billion kg CO2e. Emissions in 2022 were around 4.51 billion kg CO2e, and in 2021, they were approximately 4.67 billion kg CO2e. In 2020, total emissions were higher, at about 5.71 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 3 emissions being a significant factor at approximately 3.45 billion kg CO2e. This was a notable increase from 2019, when total emissions were approximately 5.27 billion kg CO2e. Prior to 2020, Scope 3 data was not consistently reported.

America Móvil has established significant climate commitments. The company is committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. Furthermore, it has set ambitious science-based targets (SBTs) aligned with the 1.5°C pathway. Specifically, America Móvil commits to reducing its absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 52% by 2030, compared to 2019 levels. Concurrently, it aims to reduce its absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 14% by 2030, also from a 2019 baseline. These targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The company also has a mid-term reduction target of 19% for Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2025, against 2019 levels.
