Delfort

Delfort, an Austrian-based company in the paper and paper products industry, reported total gross greenhouse gas emissions of approximately 976.6 million kg CO2e in 2024. This included about 162.6 million kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions, 166.6 million kg CO2e from Scope 2 market-based emissions, and 647.3 million kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions. In 2023, their total gross emissions were approximately 987.8 million kg CO2e.

Delfort has committed to ambitious climate targets. As a "BA1.5 member" in the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), the company aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain by 2050.

The company has set several near-term and long-term reduction targets:

• Near-term targets (by 2033 from a 2023 base year):
  • Reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 54.6%.
  • Reduce absolute Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions from purchased goods and services, fuel- and energy-related activities, upstream transportation and distribution, processing of sold products, and end-of-life treatment of sold products by 32.5%.
• Long-term targets (by 2050 from a 2023 base year):
  • Reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 90.0%.
  • Reduce absolute Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions from purchased goods and services, capital goods, fuel- and energy-related activities, upstream transportation and distribution, waste generated in operations, business travel, employee commuting, upstream leased assets, downstream transportation and distribution, processing of sold products, and end-of-life treatment of sold products by 90.0%.
