This comprises approximately 7,826,000 kg CO2e for Scope 1, and approximately 14,239,000 kg CO2e for Scope 2 (market-based). Scope 3 emissions accounted for approximately 94,012,000 kg CO2e. For 2023, SES S.A. reported total emissions of approximately 111,538,000 kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at approximately 9,799,000 kg CO2e and Scope 2 at approximately 13,705,000 kg CO2e (market-based). Scope 3 emissions were approximately 88,034,000 kg CO2e. SES S.A. has a near-term commitment to achieve a 50% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 2030, using 2019 as the baseline year. This commitment is aligned with their sustainability strategy, aiming for operational efficiency and a transition to low-carbon technologies. Furthermore, SES S.A. is committed to achieving Net Zero by no later than 2050 and was on track to submit Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) targets for validation by 2024. They also aim for 73% of their suppliers, by emissions, covering purchased goods and services, capital goods, and upstream transportation and distribution, to have science-based targets by 2028.
