Arkema's reported carbon emissions

Arkema, headquartered in France and operating within the Other Basic Inorganic Chemical Manufacturing sector, has established robust climate commitments. In 2025, Arkema reported a total of approximately 56.5 billion kg CO2e emissions. This figure comprises approximately 1.26 billion kg CO2e for Scope 1 emissions and approximately 641 million kg CO2e for Scope 2 (market-based) emissions. Scope 3 emissions were substantial, amounting to approximately 54.6 billion kg CO2e, with the largest contributions coming from the end-of-life treatment of sold products (around 23.5 billion kg CO2e) and the use of sold products (approximately 17.4 billion kg CO2e). Looking at historical data, Arkema's total emissions in 2024 were approximately 59.85 billion kg CO2e, and in 2023, they were approximately 73.33 billion kg CO2e. In 2022, total emissions were approximately 80.47 billion kg CO2e. Arkema has set ambitious reduction targets. The company aims for a 48.5% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, compared to a 2019 baseline. Additionally, Arkema is targeting a 54% reduction in Scope 3 emissions by 2030, also relative to the 2019 baseline. These targets are aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and aim to keep global warming well below 2°C. Arkema also has a long-term net-zero ambition by 2050.
