Arkema, a company in the "Other Basic Inorganic Chemical Manufacturing" industry headquartered in France, has reported its greenhouse gas emissions across Scopes 1, 2, and 3.

For the year 2025, Arkema reported a total of approximately 56.5 billion kg CO2e. This breaks down into approximately 1.26 billion kg CO2e for Scope 1 emissions and approximately 641 million kg CO2e for Scope 2 emissions (market-based). Scope 3 emissions were significantly higher, amounting to approximately 54.6 billion kg CO2e. Key contributors to Scope 3 emissions include the use of sold products (approximately 17.4 billion kg CO2e) and the end-of-life treatment of sold products (approximately 23.5 billion kg CO2e), alongside purchased goods and services (approximately 8.65 billion kg CO2e).

In 2024, Arkema's total emissions were approximately 59.85 billion kg CO2e. This comprised around 1.36 billion kg CO2e for Scope 1, approximately 787 million kg CO2e for Scope 2 (market-based), and approximately 57.7 billion kg CO2e for Scope 3. The use of sold products and their end-of-life treatment remained the largest contributors to Scope 3.

For 2023, total emissions were approximately 73.33 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at approximately 1.33 billion kg CO2e, Scope 2 at approximately 943 million kg CO2e (market-based), and Scope 3 at approximately 71.06 billion kg CO2e.

Arkema has set ambitious climate targets. The company aims for a 48.5% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2030, compared to a 2019 baseline. Additionally, Arkema is targeting a 54% reduction in Scope 3 GHG emissions by the same year, also from a 2019 baseline. This is further underscored by a broader ambition to reach Net-Zero by 2050. They are also aiming to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions to near zero by the middle of this decade. Previously, Arkema had targets for a 38% reduction in GHG emissions compared to 2015 levels.
