Basware

Basware, a Finnish company in the Computer and related services industry, reported total Scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon emissions of approximately 15.3 million kg CO2e in 2023.

In 2023, Basware's emissions included:

• Scope 1 emissions: approximately 108,000 kg CO2e, primarily from mobile combustion.
• Scope 2 emissions (market-based): approximately 361,000 kg CO2e, mainly from purchased electricity.
• Scope 3 emissions: approximately 14.9 million kg CO2e, with significant contributions from purchased goods and services (approximately 4.02 million kg CO2e), use of sold products (approximately 3.78 million kg CO2e), and business travel (approximately 1.59 million kg CO2e).

For 2022, Basware reported Scope 1 and 2 emissions of approximately 396,000 kg CO2e. This included Scope 1 emissions from mobile combustion (approximately 150,570 kg CO2e) and Scope 2 emissions from purchased electricity (approximately 245,390 kg CO2e). Scope 3 emissions for 2022 included business travel (approximately 752,700 kg CO2e) and purchased goods and services (approximately 402,000 kg CO2e).

Basware has set a near-term target to achieve a 50% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2025, driven by switching to renewable energy. By 2023, the company had reached 47% renewable energy usage in its offices. Basware recognises its journey towards achieving net-zero emissions has begun.
