The company's total emissions for 2024 were approximately 148,430,000 kg CO2e.

Scope 3 emissions were approximately 126,300,000 kg CO2e, with primary contributors being purchased goods and services (75,000,000 kg CO2e) and use of sold products (25,000,000 kg CO2e).

BMC Software Incorporated is committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by no later than 2030. This commitment is supported by Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approved targets. The company aims to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 90% by 2030 from a 2022 base year. Simultaneously, BMC Software Incorporated commits to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 90% within the same timeframe. For the long term, BMC Software Incorporated also commits to maintain at least 90% absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emission reductions from 2030 through to 2050 from a 2022 base year, with a similar commitment for Scope 3 emissions. The targets for Scope 1 and 2 are classified as consistent with a 1.5°C warming scenario.
