Cemig, a transmission services provider headquartered in Brazil, has reported its carbon emissions data. In 2024, Cemig's total reported greenhouse gas emissions were approximately 6.31 billion kg CO2e. This total is comprised of Scope 1 emissions amounting to about 42.86 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of approximately 376.17 million kg CO2e, and substantial Scope 3 emissions totalling around 5.91 billion kg CO2e. The company has established ambitious climate commitments. Cemig aims for a significant reduction in absolute greenhouse gas emissions, targeting a 70.8% decrease by 2030, using 2021 as the baseline year.
