Centrica, a UK-based natural gas distribution company, reported its latest carbon emissions for 2025 as approximately 19.88 billion kg CO2e. This includes about 1.57 billion kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions, 9.42 million kg CO2e from Scope 2 emissions, and approximately 18.29 billion kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions.
Centrica has set ambitious climate commitments, aiming to become a net-zero business by 2040, an acceleration from its previous 2045 target. This includes an interim target of a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2032, against a 2019 baseline. The company also aims to help its customers achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, with a target of a 28% greenhouse gas intensity reduction by the end of 2030.
