China Airlines's reported carbon emissions
China Airlines, headquartered in TW, reported a Scope 1 emissions total of approximately 6.05 billion kg CO2e for 2023. Scope 2 emissions for the same year were approximately 16.84 million kg CO2e. In 2021, China Airlines disclosed Scope 3 emissions totalling approximately 3.17 billion kg CO2e, alongside Scope 1 emissions of approximately 5.88 billion kg CO2e and Scope 2 emissions of approximately 16.70 million kg CO2e. The airline has established several climate commitments. These include a near-term target to reduce carbon emissions in ground operations by 41% compared to 2009 levels by 2030. China Airlines also aims for net-zero emissions by 2050, with specific targets for short, medium, and long-term greenhouse gas reductions.
