• Scope 1 emissions: Approximately 38.1 million kg CO2e.
• Scope 2 emissions (market-based): Approximately 46.5 million kg CO2e.
• Scope 3 emissions: Approximately 926.7 million kg CO2e, with significant contributors including purchased goods and services (around 678.5 million kg CO2e) and fuel- and energy-related activities (approximately 97.5 million kg CO2e).

For 2024, Coherent's total emissions were about 905.7 million kg CO2e. This comprised:

• Scope 1 emissions: Approximately 44.2 million kg CO2e.
• Scope 2 emissions (market-based): Approximately 58.3 million kg CO2e.
• Scope 3 emissions: Approximately 808.6 million kg CO2e, with purchased goods and services (around 533.8 million kg CO2e) and fuel- and energy-related activities (approximately 83.7 million kg CO2e) being major factors.

Looking back to 2023, Coherent reported Scope 1 emissions of approximately 53.6 million kg CO2e and market-based Scope 2 emissions of about 132.0 million kg CO2e. Scope 3 emissions for 2023 included business travel (approximately 43.7 million kg CO2e), employee commute (around 39.0 million kg CO2e), and fuel- and energy-related activities (approximately 97.8 million kg CO2e), though data for purchased goods and services was not disclosed.

In terms of climate commitments, Coherent has set a long-term goal to achieve net-zero Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from its internal operations by FY2040. The company also states an ambition to approach net-zero global CO2 emissions by 2050 through addressing energy management in its operations for both Scope 1 and Scope 2.
