Demant

Demant, a Danish manufacturer of surgical and medical instruments, reported total carbon emissions of approximately 221.8 million kg CO2e in 2025. This includes about 15.9 million kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions, 10.9 million kg CO2e from market-based Scope 2 emissions, and 195.0 million kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions.

In 2024, Demant's total emissions were approximately 238.7 million kg CO2e, comprising about 14.6 million kg CO2e in Scope 1, 14.8 million kg CO2e (market-based) in Scope 2, and 209.3 million kg CO2e in Scope 3.

Demant has set ambitious climate commitments validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The company commits to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 46.2% by 2030, using a 2019 base year. Simultaneously, Demant aims to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 46.2% within the same timeframe. Looking further ahead, Demant is committed to achieving net-zero emissions across its entire value chain by 2050, with a 90% reduction in absolute Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions by 2050, also from a 2019 base year. These targets reflect a commitment to a 1.5°C trajectory. Initiatives to achieve these reductions include transitioning to electric vehicles to cut Scope 1 emissions and sourcing 100% renewable electricity by 2030 to eliminate Scope 2 emissions, with an interim goal of 50% renewable electricity by 2025.
