Granges's reported carbon emissions

Gränges demonstrates a strong commitment to climate action, with significant greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting and reduction targets. In 2025, the company reported total emissions of approximately 4.2 billion kg CO2e. This includes approximately 266 million kg CO2e for Scope 1 emissions and around 174 million kg CO2e for Scope 2 emissions (market-based). Scope 3 emissions were the largest contributor, totalling approximately 3.8 billion kg CO2e, with purchased goods and services accounting for the majority at about 3.6 billion kg CO2e. Gränges has established ambitious climate goals aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), aiming for net-zero GHG emissions across its value chain by 2040. Near-term targets include a commitment to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030, using a 2021 base year. For Scope 3, the company aims to reduce emissions from purchased goods and services, fuel- and energy-related activities, upstream and downstream transportation and distribution, and business travel by 57% per tonne of packed product by 2030, also from a 2021 baseline. Looking further ahead, Gränges has long-term goals to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 90% by 2040, again from a 2021 base year. Their Scope 3 targets extend to a 97% reduction per tonne packed product by the same year. These targets have been validated by the SBTi, confirming their alignment with the Paris Agreement and scientific recommendations.
