Greencore, an Irish-headquartered food products manufacturer, reported total carbon emissions of approximately 1.05 billion kg CO2e in 2024. This figure includes Scope 1 emissions of about 66.7 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of approximately 21.7 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of roughly 1.61 billion kg CO2e. Looking ahead to 2025, the company projects total emissions of about 1.13 billion kg CO2e, comprising Scope 1 emissions of around 65.1 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of roughly 18.1 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of approximately 1.76 billion kg CO2e.

Greencore is committed to significant climate action, with Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approved targets. The company aims to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 46.2% by FY2030, using a FY2019 base year. For Scope 3 emissions, Greencore Group plc commits to reduce emissions from purchased goods and services and upstream transportation and distribution by 46.2% within the same timeframe, and absolute Scope 3 FLAG (Forest, Land, and Agriculture) GHG emissions by 33.3% by FY2030 from a FY2019 base year. Furthermore, Greencore has committed to achieving net zero for its Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2040 and to no deforestation across its primary deforestation-linked commodities by December 31, 2025. Greencore is also a signatory of the Climate Pledge, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability.
