IGT, a US-headquartered company in the Computer and related services industry, has set ambitious climate commitments validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

For the year 2025, IGT projects its Scope 1 emissions to be approximately 27,000,000 kg CO2e and Scope 2 emissions to be around 20,827,000 kg CO2e. In 2024, the company's Scope 1 emissions were approximately 23,680,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 2 emissions were about 19,327,000 kg CO2e. For 2023, IGT reported approximately 29,145,000 kg CO2e in Scope 1 emissions and around 26,129,000 kg CO2e (market-based) for Scope 2 emissions.

IGT's climate commitments include:

• Near-term targets: A 50% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, using a 2019 base year. Additionally, they aim to reduce absolute Scope 3 emissions by 30% within the same timeframe. These near-term targets are consistent with keeping global warming to 1.5°C.
• Long-term targets: A 90% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, from a 2019 base year. They also commit to a 90% absolute reduction in Scope 3 emissions by 2050, from a 2019 base year.
• Net-Zero commitment: IGT aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain by 2050.

In 2022, IGT's reported Scope 1 emissions were approximately 30,210,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 (market-based) emissions were around 26,091,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions totalled about 1,763,208,000 kg CO2e. Key Scope 3 contributors included purchased goods and services (approximately 811,740,000 kg CO2e) and use of sold products (around 681,329,000 kg CO2e). This represents a decrease in total Scope 3 emissions compared to 2019, where Scope 3 was approximately 2,022,433,000 kg CO2e.
