Interface Inc., a US-based carpet and rug mill, is committed to significant greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions. For the year 2025, Interface reported total GHG emissions of approximately 415.6 million kg CO2e. This includes Scope 1 emissions of about 10.9 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of approximately 5.8 million kg CO2e (market-based), and substantial Scope 3 emissions totalling around 393.1 million kg CO2e. The company has set ambitious climate targets. Interface aims to become carbon negative by 2040, viewing this as a progression from its previous "Mission Zero" initiative. Furthermore, Interface has committed to reducing its absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 50% by 2030, using a 2019 baseline year. This target is aligned with a 1.5°C warming scenario and has been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Additional Scope 3 reduction targets include a 50% decrease in emissions from purchased goods and services and a 30% reduction from business travel and employee commuting, also by 2030 from the 2019 baseline. Interface also achieved its goal of powering its manufacturing sites with 100% renewable energy by 2020. The company is a signatory to The Climate Pledge, committing to net-zero carbon emissions by 2040.
