This includes Scope 1 emissions of approximately 20,888 tonnes CO2e, Scope 2 emissions (market-based) of approximately 5,414 tonnes CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of approximately 10.62 million tonnes CO2e.

Looking back, Krones's total emissions in 2024 were approximately 9.83 million tonnes CO2e. In 2023, total emissions were about 6.80 million tonnes CO2e, with Scope 1 at approximately 15 tonnes CO2e, Scope 2 (market-based) at approximately 8 tonnes CO2e, and Scope 3 at about 6.77 million tonnes CO2e. For 2022, total emissions stood at around 7.43 million tonnes CO2e.

Krones has robust climate commitments, with a long-term goal to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain (Scope 1, 2, and 3) by 2040, aiming for a 90% absolute reduction from a 2019 base year. This commitment is validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) as consistent with a 1.5°C warming scenario.

The company has set several near-term and long-term targets:
