Leonardo S.p.a., an Italian-headquartered air transport services company, reported total carbon emissions of approximately 5.87 billion kg CO2e in 2025. This includes about 185.26 million kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions, 53.09 million kg CO2e from Scope 2 market-based emissions, and approximately 5.63 billion kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions. For 2024, total emissions were around 5.41 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at 185.45 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 market-based at 54.38 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at approximately 5.17 billion kg CO2e. In 2023, the company's total emissions were about 6.05 billion kg CO2e, comprising approximately 196 million kg CO2e in Scope 1 emissions, 55.09 million kg CO2e in Scope 2 market-based emissions, and about 5.8 billion kg CO2e in Scope 3 emissions.

Leonardo S.p.a. has set several climate commitments. The company aims for a 53% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2030, using 2020 as a baseline year. This target has been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) as consistent with keeping global warming to 1.5°C. Additionally, Leonardo S.p.a. commits that 58% of its suppliers, by emissions covering purchased goods and services and capital goods (Scope 3 categories 1 and 2), will have science-based targets by 2028. The company also aims to reduce Scope 3 GHG emissions from fuel- and energy-related activities, upstream transportation and distribution, waste generated in operations, business travel, employee commuting, upstream leased assets, and use of sold products by 52% per flight hour equivalent by 2030, compared to a 2020 base year.

Furthermore, Leonardo UK has committed to achieving climate neutrality for Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030 and across the entire value chain by 2050. This includes an interim target to reduce CO2 emissions by 40% (for Scopes 1 and 2) by 2025, relative to 2018 levels. Leonardo also aims for carbon neutrality by 2050.
