For Scope 3 emissions in 2024, the largest contributors were purchased goods and services at approximately 544 million kg CO2e, followed by fuel and energy-related activities at about 462 million kg CO2e, and capital goods at around 223 million kg CO2e.

Lumen Technologies has set several emission reduction targets. The company aims to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 18% by 2025 from a 2018 baseline.
