Menzies's reported carbon emissions
Menzies reported global carbon emissions of approximately 428.2 million kg CO2e in 2025. This total comprises about 81.9 million kg CO2e from Scope 1, 11.0 million kg CO2e from Scope 2, and 335.4 million kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions.
For 2024, total emissions were approximately 320.1 million kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at about 82.7 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 at approximately 16.0 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at about 221.3 million kg CO2e. In 2023, Menzies reported Scope 1 emissions of approximately 87.6 million kg CO2e and Scope 2 emissions of about 16.2 million kg CO2e. Total emissions for 2022 were approximately 344.8 million kg CO2e, consisting of about 88.0 million kg CO2e from Scope 1, 19.3 million kg CO2e from Scope 2, and 237.6 million kg CO2e from Scope 3.
Menzies has committed to several climate reduction targets. The organisation aims to reduce Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 50% by 2030 from a 2022 base year, and by 95% by 2045 from the same base year. Additionally, Menzies targets a 42% reduction in absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from the use of sold products related to the sale of fossil fuels by 2030 from a 2022 base year. A further 30% reduction in absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services, capital goods, fuel and energy-related activities, waste, business travel, employee commuting, and use of sold products is targeted within the same 2030 timeframe. For the long term, Menzies aims for a 90% reduction in absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from these categories by 2045 from a 2022 base year. The company is currently not on track to meet its near-term (two-year) Scope 1 and 2 GHG emission reduction target, as well as its long-term (five-year) Scope 3 GHG emission reduction target. Menzies also aims for a minimum 20% Scope 3 emissions reduction by 2030, 30% by 2033, and 60% by 2040.
