Nabtesco

Nabtesco, a Japanese company in the electrical machinery and apparatus industry, reported its most recent Scope 1 emissions for 2024 as approximately 4.17 million kg CO2e. Scope 2 emissions for the same year were about 34.76 million kg CO2e (market-based), and Scope 3 emissions were approximately 1.07 billion kg CO2e. This includes about 745.9 million kg CO2e from purchased goods and services, and roughly 191.6 million kg CO2e from upstream transportation and distribution.

In 2023, Nabtesco's Scope 1 emissions were around 4.93 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions were approximately 38.50 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions were about 1.07 billion kg CO2e.

Nabtesco has set several climate commitments and reduction targets. The company has a near-term Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) target, classified as 1.5°C, to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 63% by 2030 from a 2015 base year. They also aim for a 100% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2050 from a 2015 base year. For Scope 3 emissions, Nabtesco commits to having the top 70% of suppliers (by total purchase value) set their own GHG reduction targets by 2025, with the aim for these suppliers to adopt science-based GHG reduction targets by 2030.

The company also aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, as stated in its Medium-Term Management Plan (MTMP). Additionally, Nabtesco has a target to reduce overall CO2 emissions by 25% relative to 2015 levels by 2024.
