Nabtesco

Nabtesco, a Japanese electrical machinery and apparatus company, reported its latest carbon emissions for 2024. The company's Scope 1 emissions were approximately 4.17 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions were around 34.76 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions totalled about 1.07 billion kg CO2e. This data represents a decrease compared to 2023, where Scope 1 emissions were about 4.93 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions were approximately 38.49 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions were around 1.07 billion kg CO2e.

Nabtesco has set ambitious climate commitments. The company is committed to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 63% by 2030 and 100% by 2050, from a 2015 base year. These targets are aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for a 1.5°C warming scenario. Furthermore, to address Scope 3 emissions, Nabtesco aims for 70% of its suppliers, by total purchase value, to set their own GHG reduction targets by 2025, with the ultimate goal that these suppliers adopt science-based GHG reduction targets by 2030. The company also aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
