This figure comprises Scope 1 emissions of about 4.17 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of approximately 34.76 million kg CO2e, and substantial Scope 3 emissions amounting to about 1.07 billion kg CO2e, with purchased goods and services and upstream transportation and distribution being the largest contributors.

In the preceding year, fiscal year 2023, Nabtesco reported total emissions of approximately 1.12 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at about 4.93 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 at roughly 38.50 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at about 1.07 billion kg CO2e.

Nabtesco has established ambitious climate targets aligned with SBTi 1.5°C pathways. The company aims to reduce its global CO2 emissions by 63% by fiscal year 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality (100% reduction) by fiscal year 2050, both relative to a 2015 baseline year. Furthermore, Nabtesco is working towards ensuring that 70% of its suppliers, by purchase value, set their own GHG reduction targets by 2025, with the ultimate goal of these suppliers adopting science-based GHG reduction targets by 2030. As of fiscal year 2023, the company reported a cumulative reduction of 21% against its 2015 baseline, indicating progress towards its targets.
