Naturgy, a Spanish Natural Gas Liquids company, reported its 2025 emissions as follows: Scope 1 emissions were approximately 13.1 billion kg CO2e, Scope 2 (market-based) emissions were approximately 23.5 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions were approximately 94 billion kg CO2e.

Looking back, in 2024, Naturgy's Scope 1 emissions were around 11.5 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions were approximately 107.5 billion kg CO2e. For Scope 2, the market-based emissions were about 45.4 billion kg CO2e. In 2023, the company's Scope 1 emissions were roughly 12.5 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions stood at approximately 101.7 billion kg CO2e, which included about 186.1 million kg CO2e from purchased goods and services and approximately 25.4 billion kg CO2e from fuel and energy-related activities.

Naturgy has set several climate commitments. The company aims to achieve climate neutrality (net-zero Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions) by 2050, encompassing all operations and greenhouse gases.

Near-term targets include:

• Reducing combined Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 48% by 2025 against a 2017 baseline, and by 50% by 2025 against a 2017 baseline (as per different documents).
• Reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 58% by 2030 from a 2012 baseline.
• Achieving a 36% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030 compared to 2022, which represents a 56% reduction from the 2017 baseline, aligning with the 1.5°C reduction path of the Paris Agreement.
• Reducing Scope 1 emissions by 37% by 2030 from a 2022 baseline (a 54% reduction compared to 2017).
• Reducing Scope 2 emissions by 4% by 2030 from a 2022 baseline (a 74% reduction compared to 2017).
• Reducing Scope 3 emissions by 20% by 2025 from a 2017 baseline.
• Reducing total Scope 3 emissions to 101.6 billion kg CO2e by 2030, an 8% reduction from the 2022 baseline, and a 28% reduction from the 2017 baseline.

Naturgy is also committed to reducing the GHG emissions intensity of electricity generation by 49% by 2025 compared to 2017, and by 52% by 2030 from a 2012 baseline. The company also aims for near-zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by the middle of this decade.
