In 2023, NTT Docomo reported total greenhouse gas emissions of approximately 7.6 billion kg CO2e, comprising Scope 1 emissions of about 51 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of approximately 1.1 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of about 6.5 billion kg CO2e. The company has set ambitious climate commitments, aiming for a 50% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030 from a 2018 baseline, and a 14% reduction in absolute Scope 3 emissions by 2030 from a 2019 baseline. NTT Docomo has also pledged to achieve net zero emissions across its business operations by 2030, specifically targeting Scope 1 and 2 emissions. Furthermore, the NTT Group, of which NTT Docomo is a subsidiary, aims for net zero emissions across its entire supply chain by 2040. These commitments align with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and reflect the company's dedication to addressing climate change and reducing its carbon footprint.
