For 2025, Nutrien reported total global emissions of approximately 72.6 billion kg CO2e. This figure comprises:

• Scope 1: Approximately 9.08 billion kg CO2e
• Scope 2 (location-based): Approximately 2.49 billion kg CO2e
• Scope 3: Approximately 61.07 billion kg CO2e, with the use of sold products accounting for about 30.5 billion kg CO2e and purchased goods and services for approximately 23.7 billion kg CO2e.

In 2024, total global emissions were approximately 70.4 billion kg CO2e, broken down as:

• Scope 1: Approximately 9.45 billion kg CO2e
• Scope 2 (location-based): Approximately 2.59 billion kg CO2e
• Scope 3: Approximately 58.9 billion kg CO2e, with use of sold products at about 30.3 billion kg CO2e and purchased goods and services at approximately 22 billion kg CO2e.

For 2023, Nutrien reported Scope 1 emissions of approximately 9.54 billion kg CO2e and Scope 2 (location-based) emissions of approximately 2.63 billion kg CO2e. Scope 3 data for this year was not disclosed.

In 2022, Scope 1 emissions were approximately 10.27 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 2 (location-based) emissions were about 2.49 billion kg CO2e. Scope 3 data was not disclosed.

For 2021, Scope 1 emissions were approximately 11.05 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 2 emissions were about 2.7 billion kg CO2e. Scope 3 data was not disclosed.

Climate Commitments and Reduction Targets:

Nutrien is committed to reducing its environmental impact. The company has set a target to achieve at least a 30% intensity reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions per tonne of product produced by 2030, using 2018 as the baseline year.
