Odp reported total emissions of approximately 5.2 billion kg CO2e in 2024. This included about 38.7 million kg CO2e from Scope 1, 132.7 million kg CO2e from Scope 2 (market-based), and 5 billion kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions.

The company has set several climate commitments. It aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 for Scope 1 and Scope 2. Odp has committed to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 46.2% by 2030 from a 2019 base year. Additionally, Odp targets a 55% reduction in Scope 3 GHG emissions from downstream transportation and distribution and use of sold products per USD value added by 2030 from a 2019 base year. The company also commits that 75% of its suppliers by spend covering purchased goods and services will have science-based targets by 2027. These targets are consistent with reductions required to keep global warming to 1.5°C, according to the SBTi.

In 2022, Odp's total emissions were approximately 6.15 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at about 50.9 million kg CO2e and Scope 2 (market-based) at approximately 104.7 million kg CO2e. In 2021, total emissions were around 5.53 billion kg CO2e, comprising about 56.8 million kg CO2e from Scope 1 and 118.4 million kg CO2e from Scope 2 (market-based). In their 2019 base year, total emissions were approximately 6.93 billion kg CO2e, including about 65.1 million kg CO2e from Scope 1 and 153.9 million kg CO2e from Scope 2 (market-based).
