In 2023, Pactiv Evergreen's total emissions, including Scope 1, 2, and 3, were approximately 7.488 billion kg CO2e. This comprised Scope 1 emissions of 631,252,000 kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions (location-based) of 862,769,000 kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of 5,994,725,000 kg CO2e. Key categories within Scope 3 included purchased goods and services (4,242,231,000 kg CO2e), fuel and energy-related activities (933,255,000 kg CO2e), and upstream transportation and distribution (544,674,000 kg CO2e).

The company has set several climate commitments. Pactiv Evergreen aims to reduce its Scope 1 greenhouse gas emissions by 25% and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 25% by 2030, both from a 2021 baseline. Furthermore, they are committed to reducing overall greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030 from a 2021 baseline.
