Quintain

Quintain, a UK-based real estate services company, reported total carbon emissions of approximately 51.89 million kg CO2e in 2025. This included about 1.69 million kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions, 1.88 million kg CO2e from Scope 2 emissions, and 48.33 million kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions. In the previous year, 2024, total emissions were significantly lower at approximately 14.78 million kg CO2e, comprising about 1.65 million kg CO2e (Scope 1), 2.51 million kg CO2e (Scope 2), and 10.62 million kg CO2e (Scope 3). For 2023, Quintain's total emissions were around 32.38 million kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at approximately 1.38 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 at about 2.81 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at around 28.19 million kg CO2e.

Quintain has set ambitious climate commitments validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The company aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2040. Near-term targets include a 63% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2035 from a 2023 base year. Additionally, Quintain commits to an 84.6% reduction per m2 in Scope 1, 2, and 3 (downstream leased assets) in-use operational GHG emissions by 2035 from a 2023 base year. Upfront embodied Scope 3 GHG emissions from new buildings (capital goods) are targeted for a 93.1% reduction per m2 by 2034, which is equivalent to a 25.3% absolute reduction. Furthermore, Quintain pledges to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from capital goods and downstream leased assets by 37.5% by 2035 from a 2023 base year.

For its long-term goals, by 2040 from a 2023 base year, Quintain aims for a 90% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions. They also target a 98% reduction per m2 for in-use operational GHG emissions (Scope 1, 2, and 3 downstream leased assets) and a 98.1% reduction per m2 for upfront embodied Scope 3 GHG emissions of new buildings (capital goods). The company also commits to a 90% absolute reduction in Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services, capital goods, and downstream leased assets by 2040. Quintain has also committed to installing no new fossil fuel equipment in its owned or financially controlled buildings from August 30, 2026.
