**Vonovia's Carbon Emissions and Climate Commitments** Vonovia SE, a real estate services company headquartered in Germany, has set ambitious targets to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The company is committed to achieving a 42% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2030, compared to a 2021 base year. Additionally, Vonovia aims to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from specific categories – "Fuel and energy-related activities," "Use of sold products," and "Downstream leased assets" – by 25% by 2030, also from a 2021 baseline. These targets are aligned with a 1.5°C warming scenario. In terms of absolute emissions, Vonovia reported approximately 2.58 billion kg CO2e for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions in 2025. Scope 3 emissions for the same year were approximately 904.89 million kg CO2e. For 2024, the company's Scope 1 and 2 emissions were approximately 836.83 million kg CO2e, with Scope 3 emissions at approximately 1.05 billion kg CO2e. Prior to that, in 2023, Vonovia reported total emissions of approximately 1.10 billion kg CO2e, comprising Scope 1 emissions of approximately 508.28 million kg CO2e and Scope 2 emissions of approximately 327.03 million kg CO2e (market-based). Scope 3 emissions for 2023 were approximately 262.30 million kg CO2e. Vonovia also engages in operational initiatives to support its climate goals, such as conducting energy-efficient refurbishments on at least 3% of its building stock annually.
