Ultra Clean, a US-based company in the Semiconductor and Related Device Manufacturing industry, reported its 2024 greenhouse gas emissions. Total emissions for 2024 were approximately 2.65 billion kg CO2e. This includes Scope 1 emissions of around 3.65 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of about 40.45 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of approximately 2.57 billion kg CO2e.

Ultra Clean has set ambitious climate commitments. The company aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain by 2050. These targets are consistent with reductions required to keep warming to 1.5°C, as validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

Near-term, Ultra Clean commits to reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 63% by 2035 from a 2024 base year. The company also pledges to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions, specifically from purchased goods and services, capital goods, business travel, and use of sold products, by 63% within the same timeframe (2024-2035).

For long-term goals, Ultra Clean targets a 90% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2050 from a 2024 base year. Furthermore, it commits to a 90% reduction in absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services, capital goods, upstream transportation and distribution, business travel, and use of sold products by 2050 from a 2024 base year.
