Vasakronan

Vasakronan, a Swedish-based lessor of other real estate property, reported total carbon emissions of approximately 22,016,000 kg CO2e in 2025. This includes about 75,000 kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions, 493,000 kg CO2e from Scope 2 market-based emissions, and around 21,348,000 kg CO2e from Scope 3 emissions. Key contributors to Scope 3 emissions in 2025 were downstream leased assets (approximately 13,867,000 kg CO2e) and capital goods (around 5,707,000 kg CO2e).

Looking at previous years, Vasakronan's total emissions were approximately 33,379,000 kg CO2e in 2024, 37,215,000 kg CO2e in 2023, and 85,642,000 kg CO2e in 2022.

Vasakronan has committed to significant climate targets, which include a 90% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2030 from a 2016 base year. This commitment is validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and is consistent with limiting global warming to 1.5°C. Additionally, the company aims to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 90% by 2030 from a 2016 base year. Vasakronan also commits to annually sourcing 100% renewable electricity through 2030. The company also set a target to reduce its total emissions per square metre (Scopes 1, 2, and 3, excluding emissions from projects exceeding SEK 75 million) by 10% between 2022 and 2023. Furthermore, Vasakronan aims for climate neutrality by 2030, with all remaining emissions to be fully compensated with "carbon removal certificate" compensation.
