Wabtec

Wabtec, headquartered in the US and operating within the rubber and plastic products industry, reported a total of approximately 54.36 billion kg CO2e in carbon emissions for 2024. This comprised roughly 139.07 million kg CO2e for Scope 1, approximately 104.82 million kg CO2e for Scope 2 (market-based), and around 54.01 billion kg CO2e for Scope 3.

The company has established a significant climate commitment to reduce its Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 50% by 2030, using 2019 as the baseline year. This absolute reduction target covers all scopes. Wabtec is also exploring the use of 100% biofuel in its freight locomotives by 2030.

In 2022, Wabtec reported Scope 1 emissions of approximately 129.79 million kg CO2e and Scope 2 emissions (market-based) of about 105.54 million kg CO2e, with Scope 3 emissions totalling an estimated 50 billion kg CO2e. The total emissions for 2022 were approximately 50.24 billion kg CO2e.

For 2021, Scope 1 emissions were around 136.50 million kg CO2e and Scope 2 emissions (market-based) were approximately 101.87 million kg CO2e. Scope 3 data was not disclosed for this year.

In 2020, Wabtec's Scope 1 emissions were approximately 157.92 million kg CO2e, and Scope 2 emissions (market-based) were about 147.18 million kg CO2e. Scope 3 emissions were not disclosed for this period.
