Wistron's reported carbon emissions

Wistron, a Taiwanese company operating in the Electrical machinery and apparatus n.e.c. industry, has reported significant progress in its carbon emissions management. In 2025, the company's total reported emissions were approximately 33.6 billion kg CO2e. This comprised roughly 11.7 million kg CO2e for Scope 1 emissions and approximately 241.8 million kg CO2e for Scope 2 emissions. Scope 3 emissions accounted for the largest portion, with approximately 33.3 billion kg CO2e. For the year 2024, Wistron's total emissions were approximately 17.0 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at about 13.9 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 at approximately 236.7 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at around 16.7 billion kg CO2e. Wistron has established ambitious climate commitments, including a long-term goal to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, with a reduction of 90% across its global value chain. This commitment is supported by interim targets. For instance, Wistron aims to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 90% by 2030, using 2022 as a baseline year. Additionally, a near-term target is in place to reduce absolute Scope 3 emissions from purchased goods and services and the use of sold products by 25% by 2030. The company's targets are aligned with a 1.5°C warming scenario, as assessed by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Wistron has also previously set shorter-term goals, such as aiming for a 21% reduction in absolute greenhouse gas emissions by 2021 from a 2016 baseline.
