Wistron's carbon emissions data shows a significant increase from 2023 to 2024. In 2023, the company reported total emissions of approximately 87.86 billion kg CO2e, comprising Scope 1 (approximately 15.38 million kg CO2e), Scope 2 (approximately 72.48 million kg CO2e), and Scope 3 (approximately 16.62 billion kg CO2e). For 2024, total emissions rose to approximately 16.97 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at approximately 13.92 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 at approximately 236.66 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at approximately 16.72 billion kg CO2e.

The company has set ambitious climate commitments. Wistron aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030 and net-zero emissions across its value chain by 2050. As part of its near-term strategy, Wistron commits to reducing absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 90% by 2030, using 2022 as a baseline year. Additionally, it aims for a 25% reduction in absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services and the use of sold products within the same timeframe. Long-term, Wistron plans to maintain at least a 90% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions from 2030 through 2050, and a 90% reduction in absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 2050, also from the 2022 baseline. These targets are aligned with a 1.5°C warming scenario.
