Wistron, an electrical machinery and apparatus manufacturer headquartered in Taiwan (TW), has outlined ambitious carbon emission reduction targets. For 2025, the company reported total emissions of approximately 33.6 billion kg CO2e, comprising 11.7 million kg CO2e for Scope 1, 241.8 million kg CO2e for Scope 2, and a significant 33.3 billion kg CO2e for Scope 3. In 2024, Wistron's total emissions were approximately 17.0 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 emissions around 13.9 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 around 236.7 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at approximately 16.7 billion kg CO2e.

The company is committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2050. To this end, Wistron has set near-term targets to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 90% by 2030, using 2022 as the baseline year. Furthermore, they aim to reduce absolute Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions from purchased goods and services and the use of sold products by 25% within the same timeframe. For the long term, Wistron aims to maintain at least a 90% absolute reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from 2030 through 2050, and a 90% reduction in absolute Scope 3 emissions by 2050, also from a 2022 baseline.
