LyondellBasell, a global chemicals company headquartered in the Netherlands, reported approximately 89.6 billion kg CO2e in total greenhouse gas emissions for 2025. This figure includes Scope 1 emissions totalling about 12.9 billion kg CO2e, and Scope 2 emissions at approximately 6 billion kg CO2e. Scope 3 emissions were estimated at about 70.7 billion kg CO2e, with purchased goods and services accounting for the largest portion at around 29.1 billion kg CO2e. The company has established a net-zero ambition for its global operations by 2050. They have also secured power purchase agreements (PPAs) expected to enable them to procure at least 50% of their electricity from renewable sources by 2030.
