Taikisha Ltd., headquartered in JP and operating in other business services, reported its latest emissions data for 2023, totalling approximately 8.33 billion kg CO2e. This includes Scope 1 emissions of approximately 9.07 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 emissions of approximately 14.43 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 emissions of approximately 8.30 billion kg CO2e.

Looking back, Taikisha's total emissions in 2022 were about 10.86 billion kg CO2e, comprising approximately 26.87 million kg CO2e from Scope 1, approximately 17.69 million kg CO2e from Scope 2, and about 10.81 billion kg CO2e from Scope 3. In 2021, total emissions were approximately 10.33 billion kg CO2e, with Scope 1 at about 12.69 million kg CO2e, Scope 2 at about 16.21 million kg CO2e, and Scope 3 at about 10.30 billion kg CO2e.

Taikisha Ltd. has set Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approved near-term targets. They are committed to an absolute reduction of Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% by fiscal year 2030, from a 2022 base year. Additionally, the company aims to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 25% within the same timeframe. These targets are consistent with reductions required to keep warming to 1.5°C.

The company also has a long-term ambition to achieve net-zero CO2 emissions per automobile by 2050, based on their own energy estimation models for automotive painting lines. Furthermore, Taikisha aims to realise carbon neutrality by 2050 and has a near-term intensity target within its Green Technology System Business to reduce the CO2 emission factor during the operation stage of designed and constructed projects by 25% by fiscal year 2030, compared to fiscal year 2013.
