Ambuja Cements

Ambuja Cements has set Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validated targets, committing to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by FY2050. These targets are categorised as consistent with keeping warming to 1.5°C.

Near-term targets (by FY2030 from a FY2023 base year):

• Reduce gross Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 18.6% per tonne of cementitious product.
  • Specifically, reduce gross Scope 1 GHG emissions by 16.4% per tonne of cementitious product.
  • Reduce Scope 2 GHG emissions by 53.2% per tonne of cementitious product.
• Reduce all other absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42%.
• Reduce gross Scope 3 emissions from purchased clinker and cement by 35.7% per tonne purchased.

Long-term targets (by FY2050 from a FY2023 base year):

• Reduce gross Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 94% per tonne of cementitious product.
• Reduce all other absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 90%.
• Reduce gross Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased clinker and cement by 97% per tonne purchased.
• Reduce all other absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 90%.
