Bossard, headquartered in Switzerland (CH), reported total Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions of approximately 6,143,000 kg CO2e in 2024. This includes 3,252,000 kg CO2e from Scope 1 emissions (direct emissions from owned or controlled sources, such as 523,000 kg CO2e from mobile combustion and 933,000 kg CO2e from stationary combustion) and 2,891,000 kg CO2e from Scope 2 emissions (indirect emissions from the generation of purchased energy, with 2,776,000 kg CO2e from purchased electricity and 115,000 kg CO2e from purchased heat). Bossard does not currently disclose Scope 3 emissions.

Bossard is committed to significant carbon reduction. The company aims to reduce its Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2040. More specifically, Bossard targets a 50% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2031, compared to a 2023 base year.

Bossard's Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) commitments, which cascade from Bossard Holding AG, include near-term targets to reduce absolute Scope 1 GHG emissions by 54.6% by 2033 from a 2023 base year. Similarly, absolute Scope 2 GHG emissions are targeted for a 54.6% reduction by 2033 from a 2023 base year. Additionally, Bossard commits to reducing Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services, fuel- and energy-related activities, and upstream transportation and distribution by 61.07% per tonne of products produced within the same timeframe. These targets for Scope 1 and 2 are consistent with reductions required to keep warming to 1.5°C.
